Echo Marine Group is the Western Australian based shipyard behind the luxury superyacht new build brand Echo Yachts. Since 2014 Echo Marine Group has continued to attract superyachts cruising the southern hemisphere to its purpose built facilities near Fremantle on the western coast for full-service luxury and commercial vessel sustainment works.

Throughout the turbulent 2020 – 2022 period of international travel restrictions, many new and repeat customers sailed their superyachts to Fremantle from cruising grounds such as the Maldives, Hong Kong, Singapore, Phuket and the South Pacific for Echo Marine Group’s world-class superyacht docking, survey, refit and maintenance services.

Located within the Australian Marine Complex (AMC) at Henderson in Western Australia, Echo Marine Group offers a wide range of wet
berth, docking, hardstand, and fully enclosed shipbuilding hall options including an 800t slipway, 5000t travel lift and 12,000t floating dock capable of servicing large and medium sized superyachts with ease.

Several of the superyacht sustainment projects delivered by Echo Marine Group in recent years have involved larger motor yachts ranging from 50m to 84m. Recent examples of work undertaken by the yard include the addition of a custom-built helicopter pad to a 56m motor yacht; the structural hull extension for the installation of a large VEEM Gyro stabilizer to a 54m motor yacht and engine replacement and hull repainting of a 50m motor yacht. In addition to delivering this customised work, several other repeat-client superyachts have visited the yard for their survey and maintenance work, including 48m and 84m vessels.

Chris Blackwell, Sales and Marketing Manager, Echo Marine Group, said “Echo Marine Group places a high emphasis on the quality of our work. Our multi discipline in-house project management, engineering design, trades teams and specialist contractors all deliver a full suite of sustainment services to the same high level of quality and finish that we afford to our custom newbuild clients. Additionally, our team is available for in-service support and maintenance service to vessels located within the Southeast Asian region.”

Francois Voisin, Captain of M/Y White Rabbit, said “From building the fleet’s new superyachts 84m M/Y White Rabbit and 51m M/Y Charley to a refit on our existing 61m White Rabbit Echo, the experience and building capability of Echo Yachts has enabled the shipyard to complete these projects very successfully.

“Their great design and engineering team, plus a very high level of professionalism and sense of pride and commitment to top quality shown by everyone there – seldom found in other shipyards – has brought us back often. In addition, the fantastic WA cruising, diving and fishing on the way down – which is second to none – has kept us coming back to WA over the years and made the experience even more rewarding for owners and crew!”

Echo Marine Group’s full-shipyard capability provides superyachts visiting Australia and its surrounds with the perfect solution to avoiding the need for return to Europe or the USA for such work programs. Priding themselves on their flexible, client centric approach to each project, Echo also actively invests heavily into training many apprentice trades and craftspeople as the up-coming experts to help carry their business and industry into the future.
