Rivergate Marina & Shipyard has successful obtained its Clean Marina Level 3 re-accreditation with an admirable audit score of 99 percent.

The audit was carried out by an independent third-party firm that is internationally regarded.

According to the Marina Industries Association (MIA) Board of Directors and the Clean Marina Committee, the assessor praised Rivergate for the “great job they have done in controlling the risks associated with a publicly accessible, 24/7 vessel refuelling services, as well as the attention given to have good emergency preparedness. I found both of these to be exemplary.”

Colin Bransgrove, Chief Executive of the MIA said “99 percent is excellent and a credit to Rivergate and its practices”.

“The International program of Clean Marinas ensures best practice in our industry, setting an example for other players in our industry.

“It’s great recognition for staff and it shows customers that those who hold the Clean Marinas accreditation are keeping up to date with expectations and legislation, as well as in many cases leading and achieving higher standards.”

Tom Hill, Rivergate Director said the audit process was extremely thorough and the opportunity for Rivergate to demonstrate its genuine commitment to environmental principles and practices.

“This clean bill of health is testament to the dedication of Rivergate personnel and our tenants,” he said. “We are serious about the health of our local environment, as well as having a broader outlook to the oceans and seas globally.

“That is one of the major motivating factors of my participation in the London to Monaco Ride in September, raising awareness of and funds for the Blue Marine Foundation and its global conservation projects.”
