The Marine Jobs & Careers Expo, free for all attendees, will offer job and career guidance to aspiring apprentices, job seekers, future and current university students, transitioning defence personnel, technical tradespeople, and experienced individuals exploring a career change.
On the day, attendees are encouraged to explore the live jobs board to connect with immediate land and sea-based employment opportunities.

BUSINESS REGISTRATION
AIMEX is excited to deliver this one-of-a-kind marine-focused jobs and careers expo to support local businesses to attract talent and address the critical skills shortage within the region. The event enables smaller-scale family-operated businesses an equal opportunity to larger organisations to address their immediate and long-term workforce capability requirements.
We invite local marine industry businesses, training providers, recruitment agencies, and other organizations supporting the Gold Coast marine industry supply chain to express their interest in participating in the event. Participation is free of charge for all businesses. All expressions of interest will be reviewed for suitability, and approved participants will be notified by late August.
The deadline to submit EOI is Thursday 22 August – submissions after this will be pending availability

INDUSTRY INFORMATION SESSIONS AND PRESENTATIONS
Industry-led expert panel discussions and presentations will take place at the Coomera Marine Precinct, exploring the vital role the marine industry plays in the local economy, and the variety of career opportunities, including:
- School-based, part-time and full-time apprenticeships
- Superyacht opportunities and gap year pathways
- Tertiary engineering roles required for the region’s future workforce
- Entry-level positions and pathways
- Women in marine
- Defence industry pathways
- Immediate employment needs for the Gold Coast tourism sector
ON-WATER IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCES AND SHIPYARD TOURS
Exclusive on-water experiences and shipyard tours will be available throughout the day, providing attendees with an in-depth look at the scope of the maritime industry, including:
- On-water jet boat and other vessel experiences offered by the Tour Collective and Seaworld Cruises
- Walk onto and tour one of the many multi-million-dollar Riviera Motoryachts
- Experience life working as a seafarer on a Sealink Marine & Tourism vessel
- Tours of the Riviera Australia facility (The Southern Hemisphere’s largest motor yacht builder)
- An up-close look at the ever-expanding Boat Works site
- Guided walk thoughts of the region’s largest shipyard the Gold Coast City Marina
