Western Australia features some of the most spectacular, pristine and unique wilderness in the world, along with the most reputable superyacht building history in the southern hemisphere. From Darwin to Esperance, there are ports and harbours, fascinating tourist destinations and pristine waters, rivalling any in the world and unique to Western Australia.
In the North West, the Kimberley offers beautiful gorges, spectacular waterfalls and rock formations incomparable world wide and most are only accessible by water or air. The seaside town of Broome forms the gateway to this spectacular region and offers up breathaking Cable Beach – a 22km stretch of soft white sand and warm turquoise waters. From Broome, take a scenic flight over extraordinary rock formations and magnificent waterfalls, or cruise through the coastal and inland waterways that permeate the region.
Further South, Fremantle has been quoted as having the potential to be ‘the best superyacht harbour in the world’ as it is one of the best preserved 19th century cities, was host to the first defence of the America’s Cup outside the United States in over 100 years and has a wonderful international culture.
The neighbouring suburb of Henderson, is home to the shipbuilding industry in Western Australia and has a reputation for luxury motor yachts going back beyond 1985.
Marine Western Australia was formed by uniting the WA Shipbuilders Association and SuperYacht Base WA and Darwin to provide services and facilities to visiting yachts and the yacht industry.
