MTU Series 2000 and 4000 engines are the official engine of choice on Gulf Craft’s Majesty range

Al Masaood, a Tognum Group distributor of MTU engines in the UAE and Bahrain, has signed a preferred partnership agreement with UAE-based boatbuilder Gulf Craft.

Under the terms of the agreement, Gulf Craft will offer MTU Series 2000 and 4000 engines as a primary option on its complete range of Majesty yachts.

The contract extends through 2014 and provides more than 50 engines ranging from 8-, 10-, 12- and 16-cylinder units of Series 2000 to 12-cylinder engines of Series 4000.

“This preferred partner agreement will allow us to strengthen our long-standing partnership and significantly expand our market share,” says Tognum chief sales officer Michael Haidinger.

Located close to Dubai in the emirate of Umm al-Quwain, Gulf Craft makes custom-built yachts of up to 50m (164ft) in length. The yachts have been powered by MTU engines for more than 20 years.

MTU and Al Masaood are displaying the current Series 2000 and 4000 engines at this year’s Dubai International Boat Show, which runs until Sunday.
